QCWA WILD ROSE CHAPTER 151 (Special Executive Meeting Minutes - October 10, 2001)

Minutes of the Special Executive Meeting October 10th, 2001, held at the Cross Roads Restaurant, Ponoka, Alberta.

President Les Card VE6CA, called a Special Executive Meeting to review the results of a questionnaire sent to all members. The purpose of the questionnaire was to ask the members for their opinions and guidance to the Executive, in planning the future of the Wild Rose Chapter 151.

Executive members in attendance: President Les Card VE6CA, Vice President Paul Christiansen VE6ABD, Treasurer Don Stewart VE6DS, Secretary Bruce Collisson VE6BAC and Past President Norm Reidford VE6NR. Invited members, because of their willingness to volunteer their services, Bob Bruce VE6AOS, Ken Oelke VE6AFO was unable to attend.

President Les Card VE6CA called the meeting to order at 1415 Hrs.

Treasurer Don Stewart VE6DS reported the Chapters bank balance as of October 10, 2001 of $574.29.

A review of the questionnaire indicated that 58% of the members would prefer to opt out of the QCWA International Organization, but would like to continue with the local net (88%). Motion by Norm Reidford VE6NR that the Wild Rose Chapter 151 be disbanded at the end of the year. Seconded by Don Stewart VE6DS. Carried.

Discussion followed as to the name of the new group or net.

Motion by Don Stewart VE6DS the we form an informal Amateur Radio Operators Group and suggested "The Wild Rose Alberta Net". Seconded by Bruce Collisson VE6BAC. Carried.

Discussion followed that we could check with A.R.L.A. and make sure that we were not using the name of an already established name or net in Alberta. In the meantime we will use "The Wild Rose Alberta Net" name until further notice.

Discussion followed on what would become of the Chapters funds and also would there be members fees to belong to the new group. Motion by Les Card VE6CA that the funds of the QCWA Wild Rose Chapter 151 be transferred to the new organization, "The Wild Rose Alberta Net" January 1st, 2002. Seconded by Bob Bruce VE6AOS. Carried. No conclusion was reached re members fees for the new organization and was to be deciced at a later date.

Les Card VE6CA volunteered to the Chairman of the new organization and that a Secretary and Treasurer is all we would beed to manage the new organization.

Bob Bruce mentioned that he might be interested in the position of Secretary/Treasurer of "The Wild Rose Alberta Net". Motion by Norm Reidford VE6NR that Bob Bruce be elected as the Secretary/Treasurer of "The Wild Rose Alberta Net" effective January 1st, 2002. Seconded by Don Stewart VE6DS. Carried.

President Les Card VE6CA stated that he would send a letter to all members advising them of our decisions and that the QCWA Wild Rose Chapter 151 would continue until December 31, 2001.

Motion by Bob Bruce that the executive meeting be adjourned. Carried. Meeting adjourned at 1540 Hrs.
