  8. New Business – A general discussion was spurred by President Oelke on what the Chapter should be doing to carry out future goals and objectives. Al McNeil, VE7BJA believed the Chapter was in a great position to promote amateur radio to youth groups in schools, churches, Scouts and Girl Guides between the ages of 12 to 17. In this regard Al suggested the Chapter investigate the possibility of developing a package in where chapter members and friends could make presentations to interested groups. After a presentation is made and further interest is shown to acquire an amateur radio certificate, these candidates can be referred to an amateur radio club offering courses. As well chapter members have an experienced background in radio and therefore can further assist enthusiastic students taking the amateur radio course.

  9. Donation to QSL.Net – The QCWA Wild Rose Chapter 151 web site is now located on a free server provided by QSL.Net Inc which is owned and operated by Al Waller, K3TKJ. Al was given an award last year at Dayton Hamvention for his many years of providing free web space for the sole purpose of promoting amateur radio. The QCWA Wild Rose Chapter 151 web site address is http://www.qsl.net/ve6afo. Since this service operates purely on donations, it was suggested that Chapter 151 may wish to make a small donation toward the cause. Al McNeil, VE7BJA made a motion to donate US $25.00 to QSL.Net Inc. Seconded by Al Smith, VE6OX – carried.
