QCWA Alberta Wild Rose Chapter 151 Quarterly Report

As part of its initiative with the Radio Amateurs of Canada's (RAC's) Youth Education Programme, Chapter 151 undertakes to help schools participate in ARISS contacts. Two contacts were made during the fall of 2009 with Dr. Robert (Bob) Thirsk onboard the ISS. The first was made on September 22, 2009 from RT Alderman School, and the second on October 14, 2009 from Glenmore Christian Academy (GCA). The contact from GCA was particularly exciting for the school and the ARISS team, as Dr. Thirsk's sister, Bev, is a teacher there.
