We have a luncheon meeting planned for Saturday April 23rd, 2005 in Calgary with a presentation titled “TV Production-Behind the Scene and Beyond”. The presenter is Don Moss ,VE6APT. Don started as a broadcaster for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation and currently owns a production company and has travelled all over the world working for every major broadcaster. From sports, Olympics, Royal Visits, G 7/8 meetings, News specials and more, Don has been there.

The second meeting of the planning committee for the QCWA National Convention, September 27-30, 2006 was held at the Devry Institute on March 30, 2005. Revisions were made to the budget based on possible tours, entertainment and the final cost of lapel pins. There will be nine seminars and a QCWA forum. Two seminars will discuss “Radio Rocketry” and “Radio Astronomy”. Other seminars are on Telescope Astronomy. QRP, Neuron Waves, IARU, Living Longer in Amateur Radio and Amateur Radio in Schools.

The next meeting of the planning committee will be in September to begin finalizing the details for the Pre Registration form to be published in the Spring 2006, QCWA Journal.
