Wild Rose Chapter 151 Report A hearty welcome to all new chapter members since the last report. Congratulations - you did it! You now are going to ask what is was you did. When Chapter 151 decided to dissolve in December 2001, it was three months later when a number of Life Members decided this was no way to further promote the activities of amateur radio. On this note, a letter dated March 28, 2002, was sent to all known past chapter members letting them know Chapter 151 had been reactivated and further invited everyone to rejoin. And many members did just that. As well, many new Amateurs joined up with QCWA and came aboard. Most gratifying to see was the fantastic support we received from Amateurs in Alberta as well from our neighbours to the west in British Columbia. There are three VE7s in our roster, though one does live in Alberta for the interim until he moves to Vernon, BC. A Spring Luncheon was held on April 16th with an excellent turn out. The group discussed the chapter's goals and objectives for the future. Meaningful activities, other than eating, are very important to the survival of any organization including that of Chapter 151. Oh yes, what exactly did you do? One year after dissolution we can proudly report we have 22 members and 8 new friends. The number of members before dissolution also was 22. In this regard and thanks to you, exactly a year later we are back on track and growing in size. One final item to note. Our web site had to move again and we now can be found at http://www.qsl.net/ve6afo/ Enjoy your tour! Ken Oelke - VE6AFO
